Renfrew Even the Series

Luka Marinic scored 3:29 into double overtime to give the Renfrew Timberwolves a 2-1 win in Game 6. The series will finish up Saturday night in Carleton Place with the winner earning the final spot in the CCHL2 semi-finals.

Marinic re-joined the Timberwolves in Game 3 of the series and has scored in every game since. He had both Renfrew goals on Friday night and has a total of 5 in four playoff games.

Marinic is a 98′ born forward from Pembroke. He had 64 points in 38 regular season games this season.

Brendan Hill scored the only Canadians goal late in the first period to tie the game at 1-1. Hill is a 01′ forward from Renfrew and has played 3 games in the series since being called up from the Canadians U18 team.

Dane Brumm improved to 5-3 in the playoffs with 42 saves.

After splitting the regular season series 2-2, the Timberwolves and Canadians are tied 3-3 in their quarter-final series. Renfrew have won back-to-back games in double overtime while facing elimination. Game 7 is scheduled for tonight at 8pm.

If the Timberwolves win they will take on the Casselman Vikings in the semi-finals. A win for Carleton Place would have them facing the Ottawa Canadians.
