Theo Hannah wins RBC National Jr. A Scholarship Award

Theo Hannah was on hand in Humboldt, SK to receive the RBC National Junior A Scholarship. Hannah was chosen from 10 finalists – one from each of the Canadian Junior Hockey League's member leagues – to receive the $5,000 scholarship. He will continue his hockey career and his academic pursuits at Amherst College this fall. Congrats Theo!

Canadians announce bantam protects

The Canadians added two new members to the fold this week in Alex Vala and Joey Laird. Both were members of the Ottawa Valley Titans Major Bantam AAA team this past year. Vala, a forward from Carleton Place, scored 12 goals and added 15 assists for 27 points in 27 games in the regular season. In 10 playoff games, he scored 6 times and assisted on 5 others. Laird, also a forward, hails from Stittsville and scored 18 times while assisting on 17 others for 35 points in 28 games. He added 10 goals and 5 assists in 10 playoff games.

Caldwell Street School wins Lafarge school night challenge

The Canadians are pleased to announce the winner of the Lafarge School Night challenge. Congrats to the staff and students at Caldwell Street School for having the most number of students out at the school night games this year. They've won a cheque for $500, which was presented by Rob Barber from Lafarge, to be put towards their athletics programs or facilities at the school.

Mac Olson commits to Hobart College

The Carleton Place Jr. A Canadians are very proud to announce the commitment of Mac Olsen to Hobart College. Olson, a native of Grosse Pointe, MI, joined the team late in the year and added immediate offense. He scored 8 goals and added 8 assists for 16 points in his 19 games with the club. In 4 playoff games, Olson added a pair of assists. Congrats and best of luck Mac!
