Call Ups Help Jr. Canadians Win 8th Straight

With the World Jr. A Challenge taking place the top ranked team in the country is shorthanded this week. The Jr. A Canadians called up 5 players for their game against Pembroke Friday night (Bolton, Eckert, Templeton, Patton, Mosley). The Jr. B Canadians also had a game Friday and were without forward Spencer Marshall, making them need 6 players to play up (Desjardins, Hill, LeSage, Kealey, Richmond, Pimm). Despite having younger lineups both teams were able to pick up victories with the Tier 2 side winning 3-2 over Richmond for their 8th straight victory.

Brayden Campeau opened the scoring 4:40 into the game but Richmond’s Patrick Yates answered for the Royals 31 seconds later.

16 year old call up Adam Desjardins was playing in his 6th game with the Tier 2 team. He assisted on the Campeau goal before scoring to give Carleton Place the lead at 7:05 of the 2nd period.

Yates scored his second of the night for Richmond with just under 12 minutes left in the 3rd to tie the game at 2-2.

James Lister scored the game winner with 8:42 left in the game and Josh Richmond drew the assist. Lister is also 16 years old and has played in all 31 games this season, he has 7 goals and 11 assists. Josh Richmond was making his 6th appearance with the team.

Vincent-Bujold Roux picked up another win in goal for CPC. He made 23 saves, his goals against average is down to 2.22 (tied for 2nd best) and his 9th straight win has his record for the season at 11-4.

Athens won their game against Renfrew to stay 8 points back of the Division leading Canadians. The Aeros have played 3 less games.

Carleton Place are at home on Saturday night against the Perth Blue Wings (12-13-3). Game time is scheduled for 8pm. The teams came away with 1 win each in a home and home series in early November.
