Tier 2 Canadians Force Game 7

The Carleton Place Canadians Tier 2 hockey team led from start to finish in Game 6, defeating Ottawa by a final score of 5-2. With the win the series is tied 3-3, with Game 7 to be played tonight at 7:15pm in Carleton Place.

Reece Bolton put Carleton Place up 1-0 with his 7th of the playoffs 3:51 in to the 1st period. Brendan Hill extended the lead on a powerplay goal to give CP a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

The CP powerplay went 1-for-3 in the game. Their powerplay continues to produce goals and is best in the league in the playoffs (28.77%). They have scored 21 powerplay goals in their 13 playoff games.

Alex Vala scored his 9th of the playoffs in the 2nd to give CP a 3-0 lead with 20 minutes left in regulation. Vala and Hill would also score in the 3rd to help seal the win.

Jacob Lavergne made 15 saves in net for his 1st win of the playoffs.

This was the 9th game this season between CP and Ottawa and for the 9th time the away team won the game.

The winner of tonight’s 7th game will advance to the Championship Series against the 4-time defending champion Casselman Vikings.
