Carleton Place Canadians Junior A Team Welcomes Continued Partnership with ProActive Athletic Therapy for 2024-25 Season
The Carleton Place Canadians are excited to announce the continuation of our strong partnership with ProActive Athletic Therapy for the 2024-25 season. Now entering its third consecutive year, this collaboration has been instrumental in keeping our Junior A players healthy, resilient, and performing at their best both on and off the ice.
ProActive Athletic Therapy has been a key player in supporting our athletes, offering expert care, rehabilitation, and injury prevention. Their hands-on approach has been invaluable, ensuring that our players receive top-tier treatment and recovery support, especially in a sport as physically demanding as hockey. As the 2024-25 season begins, we’re confident that this partnership will continue to bring tremendous benefits to the team.
This season is also particularly special, as ProActive Athletic Therapy is now under the new ownership of Stephanie Lowther, a Certified Athletic Therapist who has worked with a variety of sports teams across Ontario, including the Brampton Canadettes ice hockey team representing Central Canada in the 2018 Esso Cup. With her extensive background and passion for athlete care, Stephanie is eager to continue the tradition of excellence that ProActive has provided our team.
“ProActive’s commitment to keeping our athletes in peak condition has been outstanding, and we’re excited to see what this season brings under Stephanie’s leadership,” said the team’s management. “We value having a trusted partner in athletic therapy who understands the demands of junior hockey and is dedicated to our players’ well-being.”
ProActive Athletic Therapy has been a crucial part of our success over the past two seasons, helping to keep injuries at bay and ensuring our players can recover quickly when challenges arise. Their comprehensive services, from injury prevention to rehabilitation, have contributed significantly to our ability to stay competitive and focused on our goals.
“Our partnership with the Carleton Place Canadians has been a rewarding journey,” says Stephanie, the new clinic owner and CEO. “It’s been incredible to witness the growth and success of the athletes we’ve worked with, and I’m excited to carry on the tradition of offering top-notch athletic therapy to this outstanding team.”
As we head into the 2024-25 season, we’re proud to have ProActive Athletic Therapy once again supporting us on the journey. Their expertise in athletic care not only helps us succeed on the ice but also sets our athletes up for long-term health and performance.

About ProActive Athletic Therapy
ProActive Athletic Therapy, located in Carleton Place, ON, is the only Athletic Therapy clinic in Lanark County. Since 2013, the clinic has been committed to making a difference in people’s quality of life through Athletic Therapy, giving back to the community and leading a passionate team of practitioners.
Athletic Therapists (ATs) specialize in treating various acute and chronic conditions, such as low back and neck injuries (nerve impingement, herniated disc, etc), muscle strains, ligament sprains, shoulder and knee injuries, osteoarthritis, concussion management and vertigo.
Traditionally, ATs are known for being emergency sports first responders on the field for high performance athletes. They use the Sports Medicine Model of care, which is designed to get people back to what they love rapidly and safely. ProActive uses this model of care in a clinic setting to treat a wide range of patients, from professional athletes to the weekend warriors. They use various manual therapies, modalities, postural/biomechanical correction, exercise prescription, bracing and taping.
