Canadians look ahead to 2024-2025

After a Junior A season that once again consisted of a first round loss to the rival Smiths Falls Bears, Owner Brent Sullivan is looking ahead to the upcoming season with a focus on “youth and energy”

“Of course you can’t get over the frustration of another first round loss easily, leaves a bad taste in your mouth. In saying that, one way to move forward in a positive way is with the exciting youth that is coming up from our Junior B team and our most recent draft.” Owner-Brent Sullivan stated.

The youth he is referring to comes from a Junior B team that won the Richardson Division and lost in the league Championship in 6 games to the powerhouse Casselman Vikings. This version of the Jr Canadians had the league’s youngest roster and many of which have Junior A futures as soon as this upcoming season.

“It’s our focus with our Jr B program is to create a development system, one we can pull players from consistently. We feel we owe it to some of the local kids first to get a crack at an A spot. We have already committed many of them, and there will be more to come.”

As we enter the summer months, players are gearing up for what will be a new look Canadians as they approach training camp end of July.

“We want hungry, driven players. We want players with energy and a team first attitude. Everything is earned and nothing is given moving forward. This is something we have gotten away from and there will be no excuses moving forward. This falls on me and I will be driving that message home from Day 1.”
