Barkley Cup Starts Thursday

The Barkley Cup will begin Thursday night in Casselman with Game 1 scheduled for 8pm at the JR Brisson Complexe.

The Carleton Place Jr Canadians will look to upset the 4-time defending champion Casselman Vikings in the best-of-7 CCHL2 championship series.

The Vikings finished 1st overall in the regular season with a 40-10-2 record. They swept the Embrun Panthers 4-0 in the quarter-finals and came back from down 3-1 against Perth to advance to the finals.

The Jr. Canadians finished 2nd overall with a 37-13-2 record. Carleton Place defeated Renfrew 4-3 in the quarter-finals and came back from 2-0 and 3-2 series deficits against Ottawa in the semi-finals.
