Second Period Burst Leads Tier 2 Club to Win in Brockville

Three goals in less than four minutes to start the second period helped the Carleton Place Jr. Canadians to a 6-2 win in Brockville Wednesday night. Spencer Marshall and Ryland Mosley had two goals each. Jacob Lavergne made 27 saves to get his 9th win of the season.

Spencer Marshall opened the scoring 17:25 into the 1st period. Adam Cavaliere answered for the Tikis and the score was 1-1 after 20 minutes.

In the opening 3:30 of the 2nd period the Canadians exploded for 3 goals. Mosley scored 28 seconds into the frame, Marshall scored his second of the night at 2:07, and Mosley added another at the 3:30 mark.

Aiden Parnell added the 4th goal of the period to give CPC a 5-1 lead heading to the 3rd.

Alex Torres-Gil scored shorthanded to bring the score to 5-2 with under 12 minutes to go. That was as close as the Tikis would come. James Lister scored the last goal of the game.

The Canadians were 2 for 5 on the powerplay. They were 7 for 7 on the penalty kill and have now killed 10 straight penalties. Their PK is 6th in the league (86%).

Jacob Lavergne improves to 9-2-1 on the season.

Josh Mills was the first star of the game with 3 assists.

Ryland Mosley is now tied for 2nd in the league with 35 points. He has 4 goals and 2 assists in the last two games.

Carleton Place are back in 1st place in the Richardson Division, 1 point ahead of Westport. Westport have played 1 less game.

It will be the first meeting of old Jr. B rivals on Saturday night when Carleton Place host the Perth Blue Wings (8-10-1). The Canadians will then travel to Perth for a second meeting on Sunday afternoon.
