Ryland Mosley has Committed to the University of Alabama-Huntsville

“It is always good to get a big win, especially against the hometown team,” said Carleton Place forward Ryland Mosley on Saturday night. The Canadians Tier 2 team had just recorded their biggest win of the season, a 9-3 final score over the visiting Arnprior Packers.

Mosley is regarded as one of the top prospects for the Jr. A Canadians. He is playing on the top line of the Tier 2 club, and through 10 games is tied for the league lead in assists (11), and sits tied for 5th with 15 points. On September 18th, he became the first player from the Tier 2 program to announce his commitment to an NCAA school. He has chosen the University of Alabama-Huntsville and will start his first year with them in September 2020.

“I really like the program, they are building a good team there and I want to be involved. They showed interest in the pre-season and I was hooked right away.”

Mosley becomes the 5th Carleton Place player in the last 3 seasons to commit to Huntsville. Their current roster features 6 Ontario born players.

For now Mosley remains with the Carleton Place Canadians and has one thing on his mind. “I want to a win a Championship. I love winning and I am excited to have the opportunity.”

The Tier 2 Canadians got off to a 3-3 start, but have rallied for 4 straight wins and sit at the top of Richardson Division standings with 14 points. Mosley has had a great start to the year as an individual and wants to continue to be a big part of their success.

“I want to be a leader on and off the ice and lead the team in a good direction. I am excited to be here with some of my friends that I have played with for a few years, and I am making new friends as well which is nice.”

The Canadians are on the road Tuesday to take on Char-Lan. Their next home game is Thanksgiving Monday at 3pm against Winchester.
