Forget, a 20-year-old goaltender, is playing in his first season of junior hockey and his first with the Canadians.

The past two years, the Mascouche, Que. native played at Tabor Academy, a prep school in Massachusetts, as part of the U.S. High School league.

“It was very fast hockey, very physical,” Forget said. “I think it’s a good jump to junior, same style of hockey just with younger guys.”

He describes himself as a quick goaltender who likes to help his team out with his communication on the ice.

“I scream a lot,” he said, before adding, “and I battle on every single puck, I never give up.”

In terms of someone who Forget tries to model his game after, he said he wants to play a similar game to Sergei Bobrovsky of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

“He’s kind of weird but I like the way he’s very flexible, he stays in tight on back-door plays. He’s very confident, so I like that.”

Canadians fans have seen what Forget can do this season as he has a 17-1-0-1 record in 20 games. He leads the CCHL in goals-against average at 1.64, save percentage at .933 and wins, while his two shutouts have him tied for third in the league.

Late in October, Forget committed to Princeton University where he will continue to play after this season.
