Jr. Canadians Win 7th Straight Game

The Carleton Place Canadians Tier 2 hockey team won their 7th straight game on Thursday night. The win also completed a four game sweep over the top four teams in the Martin Division (Ottawa, Casselman, Embrun, Ottawa West). Vincent Bujold-Roux won his 8th straight start improving his record to 10-4.

The defensive battle had the game scoreless until late in the second when a Reece Bolton slap shot from the high slot beat Ottawa West goaltender Chris Cuglietta. Bolton, coming off a two goal game against Casselman, is now second in the league with 24 goals.

Aiden Parnell came across the blue line and snapped home the game winner with 2:59 remaining in the 3rd. Justin Lefebvre got the Golden Knights on the board just 27 seconds later, but an Ethan Wardman empty net goal iced the game for CPC, 3-1 final score.

Cuglietta and Bujold-Roux faced the same amount of shots (38). Bujold-Roux was playing in his hometown of Nepean and making his first start since being named goaltender of the month for November. Over his 8 game win streak his Goals Against Average is 1.38.

The league also recognized Canadians forward Ryland Mosley as rookie of the month for November. Mosley scored 11 goals in the month over 9 games.  He also recorded his first goal with the Jr. A team in his second appearance with the Tier 1 club on Sunday against Smiths Falls.

Carleton Place have completed a trade with Arnprior, sending 16 year old left winger Trent Harris to the Packers for future considerations. Harris has 5 goals and 4 assists in 23 games this season.

The Canadians are in Richmond tonight to take on the Royals (9-11-3). They are looking for the season series sweep over Richmond in their 3rd and final meeting of the season. CPC return home on Saturday to take on Perth (12-13-3).
