Jr Canadians Win 4th Straight in Renfrew

After an 8-3 defeat to the Carleton Place Canadians on Sunday afternoon the Renfrew Timberwolves playoff hopes were slim, sitting 7 points out with just 6 games left. Friday night’s rematch was the Timberwolves 4th game in 6 days and the Canadians prevailed with a 4-2 win at Ma-te-Way Rink.

Hisham Barayan and Ethan Wardman assisted on each other’s goals in the opening period. Barayan scored shorthanded 5:28 into the game and Wardman extended the lead to 2-0 before the first intermission.

Brandon English cut the lead in half with a powerplay goal in the 2nd period and the game would stay tight until late in the 3rd.

Ryland Mosley’s 38th goal of the season with 4:44 left would stand as the game winner. Eastan Eckert added a powerplay goal 1:17 later.

Vincent Bujold-Roux won his 3rd straight start in net, making 17 saves to improve his record to 18-7.
