Jr Canadians One Win Away From Semi-Finals

The Carleton Place Jr Canadians are one win away from the CCHL2 semi-finals. After a 6-2 win in Renfrew on Sunday night, the Canadians pushed their lead in the series to 3-1 and can advance to the semis with a win at home on Tuesday night.

Cameron Patton scored on a shorthanded breakaway to give the Canadians an early lead.

For the third straight game the Canadians pulled away in the 2nd period. After Luka Marinic leveled the score 6:12 in to the period, Carleton Place scored 4 unanswered goals in 4:48 to take a 5-1 lead heading to the 3rd.

Carleton Place have outscored Renfrew 13-4 in the 2nd period through 4 games.

Patton finished with a hat trick and now has 5 goals in the playoffs. Ryland Mosley and Alex Vala had a goal each and both have scored in each of the first four games.

Spencer Marshall scored what would stand as the game winner which was his second goal in the playoffs.

Vincent Bujold-Roux moved to 3-1 in the playoffs by making 23 saves.

A ten player fight in Game 3 left both teams shorthanded for Game 4. Renfrew had just 13 skaters. Ethan Woolsey, Mitchell Kealey and Connor Nicoll were all called up from the CPC U18 team.

Game 5 in Carleton Place is scheduled for Tuesday night at 7:15pm.
