Jr Canadians Enter Family Day Game with 5 game Win Streak

For the fourth time this season the Carleton Place Canadians Tier 2 hockey team is riding a 5 game win streak. The Canadians are first place in the Richardson Division standings and two wins away from a regular season championship in their inaugural season.

The Canadians are coming off a 6-4 road win over the Whitewater Kings on Saturday night. They were led by Cameron Patton who had 3 goals and an assist. The Canadians won all four of their games against Whitewater who are also playing their first season in the CCHL2.

Carleton Place never led until a shorthanded goal from Spencer Marshall 12:11 into the 2nd period put them up 4-3.

After the Kings tied the game early in the 3rd, Hisham Barayan scored for the second consecutive game to restore the Canadians lead with 16:01 remaining. Patton scored his third of the night with 5:42 left to help secure the win.

Jacob Lavergne made 28 saves in goal to improve his record to 17-6-2.

Also scoring in the game was forward Ryland Mosley. His first period powerplay goal was his 39th of the season. Mosley is 2nd in the league in goals and points (83). Over the five game win streak he has 11 points.

Carleton Place host Arnprior at 12pm on Monday as the first part of a Family Day doubleheader. The Canadians (35-13-2) are looking for a 4 game season sweep over the Packers (15-30-2).

Following the Tier 2 game, the Carleton Place Jr A Canadians (48-4-4) will take on the Smiths Falls Bears (22-28-6). The Jr A team is ranked number 1 in the country and have won 11 straight games.
