Canadians Split Their Weekend Games

The Carleton Place Canadians tier 2 hockey team lost in overtime on Saturday night to the Ottawa West Golden Knights. This followed a 5-2 win on Friday over the Richmond Royals.

Ryland Mosley had a 4 point night on Friday to lead the team.

The Canadians out shot Richmond 49-43. Vincent Bujold-Roux made 41 saves to earn the victory.

On Saturday the Canadians played Ottawa West for the first time. James Lister had the opening goal of the game and then assisted on a goal from Brendan Hill to give Carleton Place a 2-0 lead.

The Golden Knights answered with 2 goals to tie the game. Ryland Mosley put the Canadians back out in front 7:17 into the 2nd period.

Trailing 4-3 late in the 3rd, Trent Harris took a cross ice pass from Oliver Carriere, came in across the blueline and snapped home the game tying goal with 2:36 remaining.

Raphael Lecours completed the hat trick with his 3rd goal being the game winner in overtime. The Golden Knights won their 2nd straight game coming off of a 5 game losing streak.

CPC out shot the Golden Knights 38-35. Jacob Lavergne made 30 saves in net for the Canadians.

Nine out of the next ten games on the Canadians schedule are against teams below .500. Next up is a home game against the Brockville Tikis (4-10) on October 28 at 8pm.
