Canadians beat Undefeated Ottawa for Third Straight Win

The Carleton Place Canadians Tier 2 hockey team defeated the previously unbeaten Ottawa Canadians on Sunday night. The game was played at the Earl Armstrong Arena and the visitors got their first road win of the season by a final score of 6-4. Jacob Lavergne stayed perfect on the season, now 5-0, stopping 23 shots and giving his team their third straight win.

Carleton Place never trailed in the game. First period goals from Ryland Mosley, Trent Harris, and Reece Bolton had them up 3-2 at the first intermission.

Oliver Carriere gave the Canadians a 4-3 lead 6:39 into the 2nd period. Ottawa tied it up again before Reece Bolton scored his second of the game and CPC held a 5-4 lead with 1 period to go.

Carleton Place held the 5-4 lead the entire 3rd period and Reece Bolton sealed the game. With 32 seconds left Bolton scored on an empty net to give CPC the win and make him the first player in franchise history with a hat trick.

Ottawa came into the game with a 5-0 record. Carleton Place were 0-2 on the road.

CPC improve to 4-2 against the Martin Division and 6-3 overall. They sit 4 points up on Arnprior for 1st place in the Richardson Division, but they have played 3 more games than the Packers.

Jacob Lavergne is now 5-0, with a goals against average of 2.56 and a .904 save percentage.

Reece Bolton leads the league in goals (10) and points (16). Ryland Mosley is at the top of the assists leaderboard with 10.

The Canadians are off all week. They host 2nd place Arnprior on Saturday night at 8pm.
