The Carleton Place Canadians Under-18 AAA team picked up their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory against the Navan Grads U18 on Monday night.

Joe Ranger picked up the shutout, making 33 saves in the process. Team captain Brendan Hill paced the offence with a pair of assists in the game.

Both Ranger and Carter Cummins were perfect in the first two periods before Connor Nicoll broke the deadlock 0:30 into the third period.

Joshua Richmond added to the lead 12:49 into the final frame with a short-handed tally to add some insurance for the Carleton Place advantage.

The Canadians U18 are back in action this week-end with games on Saturday versus the Rockland Nationals U18 before a rematch with Navan on Sunday.
