Tier 2 Canadians drop 5-3 Decision in Renfrew

Coming off a game on Tuesday night, the CPC Tier 2 club traveled to Renfrew on Wednesday to take on the Timberwolves, who were 0-2 coming into the game.

Martin Templeton opened the scoring for the Canadians 5:26 into the first period.  It was the 3rd time in their first four games Carleton Place scored first.   Renfrew’s Curtis Foster evened things up on the powerplay and the score was 1-1 at the 1st intermission.

The early season leading scorer for the Canadians, Reece Bolton, scored his 4th goal mid-way through the 2nd to give his team a 2-1 lead.  Andrew McIntyre answered for the home side, scoring two straight goals to give Renfrew a 3-2 advantage heading into the final period.

Ryland Mosley tied the game 1:38 into the 3rd period.  McIntyre later assisted on two goals, giving him a 4 point night and the Timberwolves a 5-3 victory.  McIntyre now has 9 points in just 3 games.

Vincent Bujold-Roux made 26 saves in net for the Canadians.  The winning goaltender for Renfrew was Bennett Oxborough, who made 32 saves.

The Canadians were 0 for 7 on the powerplay in the game.  Renfrew had just two man advantages and scored once.

The Canadians are back home on Saturday night when they will host the Richmond Royals.  Game time is scheduled for 8pm.
