Jr Canadians start their inaugural season with a victory

The Carleton Place Jr Canadians Tier 2 hockey team opened their season with a 5-1 win over the Winchester Hawks.  The game was part of the CCHL2 showcase and was played at the Richcraft Sensplex.

Spencer Marshall made history scoring the teams first ever goal at 4:39 of the 2nd period.
Later in the period, Ryland Mosley, Brendan Hill and John Dash all scored in a 47 second stretch that gave the Canadians a 4 goal lead.
Oliver Carrier added a goal in the third period.
Carleton Place out shot Winchester 56-29.  Starting goaltender Jacob Lavergne made 28 saves while earning his first win of the season.
The Canadians next game is against the 4-time defending champion Cassleman Vikings.  Puck drop is scheduled for Sunday night at 8:15 at the Richcraft Sensplex.
